Hello. I am Marisa.

Marisa is a practicing artist and passionate art educator who graduated from the Nanyang Academy of Fine Arts (NAFA) in 2019 with a diploma in Art Teaching. With an artistic journey rooted in childhood, Marisa began her exploration with pencil portraiture, spending hours sketching intricate, realistic likenesses—a formative practice that solidified her lifelong dedication to the arts. This early love for capturing faces and expressions fueled her desire to expand her skill set, gradually embracing a wide range of media and techniques.

As her artistry matured, Marisa’s creative interests broadened, leading her to experiment with various traditional and digital forms. While she has a deep appreciation for painting and sketching, digital art has become a significant aspect of her work, allowing her to blend the timeless techniques of fine art with modern tools and methods. Over time, Marisa developed a distinctive voice in the realm of darker, horror-themed art, channeling her fascination with the macabre into works that captivate viewers with their sense of mystery and emotional depth. Her pieces often evoke tension and curiosity, offering a window into an eerie, suspenseful world that she crafts with meticulous detail and atmosphere.

Her pieces often explore the nuanced experiences and struggles tied to mental health, evoking a sense of tension, curiosity, and empathy. Through a blend of eerie atmospheres and intricate detail, Marisa’s art opens a window into a suspenseful world that reflects both the haunting beauty and challenges of the human psyche.

In addition to her personal practice, Marisa is committed to art education, sharing her knowledge and skills with students of all ages. Formally trained in art pedagogy, fine art, and graphic design, she draws on this diverse background to deliver a comprehensive learning experience. Marisa’s approach as an educator is both encouraging and technically rigorous, helping her students unlock their creative potential and develop confidence in their work. She finds great fulfillment in seeing her students embrace new skills and explore their own artistic voices, creating a lasting impact that extends beyond the classroom.
